Dr. Pedro Valente Sr was awarded the highest degree in the art (Red Belt) and the title of grand master, after fifty-five years of training under the direct tutelage of Grandmaster Helio Gracie. In May, 2016, Dr. Pedro fought a long battle with a life-threatening disease that sadly took his life. His sons Pedro Jr., Joaquim and Guilherme own the Valente Brothers Jiu-Jitsu Miami.
